Ingredients

1 cup Flour
1 to taste Salt & freshly ground pepper
1 cup Milk
1 Egg
1 cup Cornmeal
16 Prawns
1 splash Vegetable oil
1 French stick
3 tbsp Mayonnaise
1 Lettuce
2 Tomatoes, (optional)
4 squeezes Lemons

Directions

  1. Put the flour into a bowl and season. In a second bowl, whisk the milk and egg. Pour the cornmeal into a third. Toss the prawns into the flour, then into the milk and egg mixture and finally the cornmeal.
  2. Heat a frypan and cover the base with oil. Cook the prawns over a medium high heat for 30 seconds on each side, depending on size. Transfer to paper towels.
  3. Cut the French bread into 4 and spread with mayonnaise. Add lettuce and tomatoes then the hot prawns and a squeeze of lemon.
