Strawberry custard tart

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 190 degC (170 degC fan bake). Grease and lightly dust with flour a 20cm loose-bottom tart tin.
  2. In a bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in vanilla and egg. Stir in the milk. Sift the flour and baking powder over the mixture and stir to combine.
  3. Pour mixture into prepared tin and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Cool in tin then remove to a serving plate.
  4. Spread surface with vanilla custard. Arrange berries, hulled and halved on top and dust with icing sugar. Slice to serve.
