Oaty chocolate chippies

Ingredients
| 125 g | Butter, softened |
| ½ cup | Caster sugar |
| ½ cup | Brown sugar, firmly packed |
| 1 | Egg, large |
| 1 tsp | Vanilla essence/extract |
| ½ tsp | Baking soda |
| 1 pinch | Salt |
| 1 cup | Rolled oats |
| 1 cup | Chocolate chips |
| ¾ cup | Flour |
Directions
- Heat oven to 160 degC fan bake and line two baking trays with nonstick baking paper. Place the butter and sugars in a bowl and beat until pale and creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla essence.
- Add flour, baking soda, salt, rolled oats and chocolate chips and mix well to combine.
- Drop rounded tablespoonfuls onto prepared trays and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on desired texture (see tip).
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Will last for up to a week, stored in an airtight container.
Tip: Cook biscuits for 12 minutes if you want a chewy texture or 15 minutes if you prefer crispy biscuits.
