Prune, chocolate and almond spirals

Ingredients

¾ cup Blanched almonds, toasted
100 g Dark chocolate, broken into chunks
1 cup Pitted prunes
1 tbsp Orange, grated rind
6 sheets Filo pastry
1 tbsp Oil spray
1 to dust Icing sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degC. Place almonds and chocolate in a food processor and pulse until roughly chopped.  Add prunes and orange rind and pulse until just combined.
  2. Place a sheet of filo on a board and brush or spray with oil. Cover with another sheet of filo.
  3. Divide prune mixture into three, roll one portion into a log shape and place along the long side of the filo. Roll into a log, twist into a spiral shape and place on a baking tray. Brush with oil.
  4. Repeat with remaining filo and prune mixture. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden. Serve warm, cut in half and dusted with icing sugar.



Tip: Try these spirals for dessert with a dollop
of creamy yoghurt.
