While your house may not be able to accommodate yet another ornament or pot plant you've been given as a gift, there's always room in the pantry for homemade treats! Edible gifts are easy, inexpensive and a great way to pass on kind thoughts to friends, colleagues and neighbours.

Ingredients

500 g Peanuts, blanched
¾ cup Cashew nuts
¾ cup Pumpkin seeds
2 tsp Fennel seeds
50 g Butter
2 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Curry powder
1 tsp Sea salt
3 cups Rice bubbles
1 cup Crispy noodles, fried
½ cup Raisins

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Place peanuts, cashew nuts, pumpkin and fennel seeds in a roasting dish and bake for 15 minutes. Shake halfway through cooking.
  2. Add butter, oil, curry powder, salt, rice bubbles, noodles and raisins. Bake for a further 5 to 10 minutes until nuts are golden.
  3. Wait until cool, then store in an airtight container.

Tip! You can change the nuts and seeds to suit your taste, just keep the quantities in balance.
