Start the day with this delicious fancy french toast- bon appetit!

|1 to taste||Salt & freshly ground pepper|
|8 slices||Bread, grainy|
|200 g||Gruyere cheese, sliced|
|1 to grease||Butter|
- Whisk together eggs and milk and season with salt and pepper. Place in a shallow dish.
- Spread 4 of the bread slices with mustard and top with cheese and ham, place a bread slice on top to form a sandwich. Sit sandwiches in egg mixture for around 1 minute each side, allowing time for egg to absorb.
- Heat butter in a large frying pan and cook sandwiches on both sides over a medium heat until bread is golden and cheese is melted and bubbling. Serve at once
