Croque Monsieur

Directions

  1. Whisk together eggs and milk and season with salt and pepper. Place in a shallow dish.
  2. Spread 4 of the bread slices with mustard and top with cheese and ham, place a bread slice on top to form a sandwich. Sit sandwiches in egg mixture for around 1 minute each side, allowing time for egg to absorb.
  3. Heat butter in a large frying pan and cook sandwiches on both sides over a medium heat until bread is golden and cheese is melted and bubbling. Serve at once
