It's superb with cheese and crackers.

|1½ kg||Peaches, peeled with stones removed|
|3½ cups||Malt vinegar|
|2||Garlic cloves, finely chopped|
|100 g||Crystalised ginger, preserved, chopped|
|500 g||Dates, fresh|
|500 g||Raisins, or sultanas|
|1 kg||Soft brown sugar|
|2 tsp||Cayenne pepper|
- Chop peaches fairly finely. Boil them in the vinegar with the garlic until the peaches are soft.
- Add the remaining ingredients and boil for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Spoon into hot, clean jars and seal.
- Note: Makes about 3.5 litres of chutney
